【FAQ】Sake Tasting Guided Tour @ Saijo Sakagura Street
Can minors participate?
According
to Japanese law, the drinking age is 20 years old. Participants under the age
of 20 are not permitted to participate.
How much will we drink?
We
will sample approximately 200ml of Sake throughout the tour. Of course, only
drink how much you feel comfortable drinking.
Are purchases duty free?
Please
check by yourself whether tax exemption is available.
What if my arrival time is delayed due to public
transportation cancelations/delays?
In
the event of a public transportation suspension or delay, the tour will be
canceled and a full refund will be given. Delays will be checked and verified.
Will the tour be held in case of rain?
It
will be held rain or shine. In the case of stormy weather such as a typhoon or
heavy snow, the tour may be canceled. In that case, we will contact you by
email by 5:00 pm the day before and a complete refund will be made. Please
prepare appropriately for the weather.
What is the cancellation policy?
Please
check the reservation site's cancellation policy.
Where do you recommend to eat after the tour?
Please
refer to the 「Walking Map」 on the Higashi Hiroshima City Tourism Association website. We
will provide you with an English map of the area around Saijo Station. Also,
please make your own reservations.
How to get to the start of the tour at Saijo Station?
Approximately
35 to 40 minutes from Hiroshima Station (there are trains approximately every
15 to 20 minutes)
How far will we walk on the tour?
On
the day, you will walk approximately 1km to 1.5km. Please wear comfortable
walking shoes.
If it alright if I can’t drink much alcohol?
Of
course! Please only drink as much as you feel comfortable. Some people will
just wet their lips/mouth with the Sake to understand it’s characteristics.
Even if you decide to not drink alcohol, the tour fee will remain the same.
Can I request a tour outside of the listed dates?
As
of right now, that is not available.
Can I apply as a group?
Unfortunately,
we only have a limited number of spots available for this tour. Please check
availability on the website.
Can I see actual Sake brewing?
Unfortunately,
this tour does not allow you to see the actual Sake brewing process (Sake
breweries are usually not open to the public).
Can one person participate alone?
Absolutely! It is a great way to make friends!
